Ex-Chelsea Boss, Jose Mourinho, has given his support to Manchester United to overhaul Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He further claimed that the Red Devils are favourites for the Premier League title, even if they are beaten by his former club today.
Currently, Manchester United are three points ahead of the Blues, with a massive goal difference of 18 and only three games remaining. The Red Devils will have an advantage despite losing to Chelsea, as they will play West Ham and Wigan.
The Special One also said,
“… I think the player of the year must be the best of the year but also a winner of the year. I don’t think it can be a player without a big trophy. Clearly, what Ronaldo did this year has been magnificent and by some distance he has been the best player in the Premier League. For me the best is always a winner because football is a collective sport. So, if Manchester United does something important by winning the Premier League or Champions League I, and not just me but the whole football world, would give him the Golden Boot… “
The Portuguese winger, Cristiano Ronaldo, has scored 38 goals this season and with three more games left in the Premiership, and possible 2 more from the Champion League, the goal tally is unlikely to stop there.
Today’s evening match is likely to bring the full attacking instinct into the game. Chelsea needs to win this in order to keep their title bid alive. A draw is only likely to prolong the title presentation to Manchester United at a later date.
Manchester United, on the other hand, would definitely want to win this match, so they can fully concentrate or keep their focus on the Champion League. Given the win, Manchester United is 99% guaranteed to take the title, unless Chelsea is able to score 6 goals for the next three games (including against Manchester United today) in order to match the goal difference.
With the match starting in just over 2 hours’ time, a lot of people all over the world are likely to look forward to this match. Let’s bring them on!
