I caught the movie last week, I thought the movie sequel was very disappointing. Not much of an interesting plot, very long-winded. A few funny scenes, but that’s about all. Last seen battling a ginormous octopus, our favourite swashbuckling pirate Jack Sparrow gets trapped in Davy Jones mind-bending locker at World’s End. Ragged mateys Will and Elizabeth embark on a search and rescrue, only to land in sunny Singapore to fight the evil Pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun Fatt). Singapore was certainly not portrayed in the best light, looks more like traditional china dynasty times instead.

Too bad they didn’t encounter the Merlion instead, now that would surely make movie history!

Not worth watching in my opinion, save your $$ for the chick flicks like lucky you, spiderman or Shrek 3!! Rating : 3/10

If Shrek was real, he would be embarrassed by his own popularity. His name means terror in yiddish, but try as he might to be frightful, he’s just plain lovable – glowing green skin, abundant ear wax, thickened toe nails and dry wit!

The comedic formula has sent his creator Dreamworks Animation laughing all the way to the bank. Box office takings for the first Shrek Flick in 2001 reaped US479 million worldwide while Shrek 2 (2004) is the third highest grossing film in history with US920 Million.

The STORY Shrek 3 is coming to the theatres with a big, drastic opening – FRogger-in-law King Harold croaking! The sudden death in the royal family forces Sherk to become the new ruler. The responsibility hating Shrek can only get out of this mess if he locates Princess Fiona’s long lost nerdy cousin Artie to pass the crown to. Meanwhile, Fiona discovers she is preggers. The thrilled mum to be invites her rowdy ya-ya sisterhood of Snow White, cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel to the palace for company. Of course, no fairytale is complete without a Prince Charming. The narcissistic villain returns amidst the hullabaloo with a posse including captain hook and a big bad wolf to usurp the throne!

BEHIND THE SCENES The 350 crew worked a million man hours over three years to produce the movie.

The new voices behind Artie and ugly stepsister doris are singer Justin Timberlake and talkshow host larry king. The join the cast helmed by Mike Myers (Shrek), Eddie Murphy (Donkey), Antonio Banderas (Puss), Cameron Diaz (Fiona) and Rupert Everett (Prince Charming)

For Myers, each Shrek Movie is a family reunion of sorts. ‘U get to be silly and I love Donkey and Fiona and Puss in Boots and the whole thing.’ He said. I get very happy when i get into this world.

INTERESTING FACTS Shrek and Fiona have been married for eight months by the time Shrek 3 starts. There’re 23 key fantasy characters appearing in Shrek 3 including Rumplestiltskin and Little Red Riding Hood. Artists drew an average of 191,545 leaves per tree for forest scenes. While some artists got busy animating babies for the film, others got busy having the real thing. A total of 28 babies were born to artists during the making of Shrek 3!!

With all that buzz and fuss, how could you miss Shrek 3. One thing for sure, it’s getting funnier and funnier!!! @_@ I just hope the sequel continues!!! on and on……….
